Newbridge Town 3, Liffeybank FC 10 (Skye x4, Lauren x4, Saoirse, Zoey)
Liffeybank played fellow Kildare side Newbridge Town today in wintery conditions in Station Road. The girls bounced back from last weeks defeat to a strong Greystones side with the kind of performance we are used to from them. Skye and Lauren kept up their amazing scoring feats and were joined by Zoey and a first for the club from Saoirse. A young Newbridge side played their part in a really good game and scored some super goals that their play deserved.

Leixlip United 1, Liffeybank FC 3 (Michaela x2, Faye)
Liffeybank came out on top in this intriguing local derby in the Amenities Centre on Sunday afternoon. Both teams gave their all in an entertaining game played in what was terrible weather on a heavy pitch. It was end to end stuff in the first half, Molly was a driving force for the Leixlip girls and ran at the Liffeybank defense when given the chance. Erin and Abbie were more than a match and cleared their lines easily enough. Liffeybank had the ball in the net by Michaela but she was called back for offside, this gave the home team a lift and Aoibhinn the young gun fired a lovely shot past Teaghan in the visitors goal. The second half started and straight away Michaela equalized for the girls in blue beating a couple of defenders before shooting low and hard. The visitors then took the lead when Faye went wide and cut in to beat the impressive home keeper at her near post. Leixlip were unlucky not to level the scores half way into the second period when Molly and the intelligent Cara linked up well but Varvara cleared the danger for the visitors. Michaela got her second when she jinked her way into the box after good approach play by Isha and Erica. A very good display by both sets of players in difficult conditions.
