All three Girls teams kicked off their MGL seasons today.
The Under 10 team managed by Jim Keating travelled to Kilnamanagh to take on the local side. Although beaten 5.2 the two goals scored by Lucia were top class and wildly cheered by the parents. Kilnamanagh were great hosts and played some lovely football. Zoe in the Liffeybank defence put in loads of great tackles, Freya, Paige and Alannah ran all over the pitch winning ball. Amber had a couple of really well taken shots saved by the home keeper and Tia also nearly had a couple. PotM went to Lucia for her goals and also the amount of ground she covered. The girls have a bright future ahead of them.
The U13's had a big win against Maynooth's B side. The Maynooth girls battled away till the end and probably were very unfortunate that the leagues seeding didnt work. You will see the Liffeybank team move up and play against Premier sides in the coming weeks. Team Manager Simon Coburn is delighted with the girls attitude in training and at games.
The U15's went down 6.2 to a strong Lakelands side in St.Catherine's Park. In only their second game ever the Liffeybank team matched their more experianced opposition for long periods. Goals from Madison and Skye had the home side 3.2 down at half time but the visitors lifted their game in the second period to run out winners. Team Manager Laura Tiernan is working hard in training with this group.
If your daughter wants to play football please make contact with us as we are always looking to grow. The club has gone from 11 players when we started back just over two years ago to over 150 playing members now. There are still places available on the U10 (2012/13) side and the U15 (2007/08).
