MGL U11C; Liffeybank 4 (Harper x4), Bohemians 0.
A great team performance by the girls in what was a closely fought game, despite the scoreline. Freya made some super saves and the defense was marshaled brilliantly by Fiadh. Sophie and Ayra didn’t put a foot wrong. In midfield Alannah, Abbie, Alice and Caoileann worked really hard and running up and down the pitch and creating chances for the strikers. Upfront Ellie was very unlucky not to score but Harper wore her scoring boots, bagging all four goals.
MGL U11B; Liffeybank 7 (Bianca x3, Tessa x2, Holly, Amber), St.Itea's 1.
This was a very closer game than the scoreline suggests. The visitors started well but the Liffeybank defense held up well. Then three quick goals by Bianca, Tessa and Holly put the home team in the driving seat. Bianca got her second just after half time before St.Itea's got a deserved goal. Bianca then completed her hat-trick before Tessa and finally Amber completed the scoring. Special mention to Aideen who had a "Player of the Match" performance.
NDSL U8; Liffeybank v Maynooth Town
Local bragging rights went to Maynooth in this high scoring game. Goals flew into both nets during the twin games.
MGL U14A; Granada 2, Liffeybank 1 (Faye Kelly).
This was a very tight match played in Meadowbrook, there were few chances in the first half as the two teams cancelled each other out. Ten minutes into the second half and Faye Kelly put the visitors ahead after been played in by tricky winger Dannielle Kelly. Granada equalised five minutes later with a crisp finish at the back post from a wonderful cross. With ten minutes to go Granada snatched the winner when the Liffeybank defense stopped play thinking the ball was over the end line, the home striker reacted first to shouts of play on and passed backwards to her on rushing partner to fire home. Liffeybank had a flurry of corners in the last few minutes but couldn't force an equaliser in this top of the table clash. Both teams meet again on Tuesday night in the Liffeybank home tie.
NDSL U11E; Donacarney Celtic 2, Liffeybank 7 ( Josh O'R x2, Ryan x2, Josh K, Dylan, Bobby).
Josh O'R opened up the scoring for Liffeybank early in the game with a fine shot. Josh Kenny then doubled the led before the home side pulled one back. O'Reilly got his second on fifteen minutes and Dylan made it 4.1 before Celtic pulled a goal back just before the break. Liffeybank started the second half brightly and scored three more through Ryan with two and Bobboy finishing off the scoring. This win keeps Liffyebank in the hunt for the league title.
NDSL U10E; Rivervalley Ranger 2, Liffeybank 7 ( Alex x3, AJ, Noah, Paulie).
The Under 10 boys got back to winning ways with a very good performance against Rivervalley on Saturday morning.
