A lovely evening for a game of football, with Liffeybank welcoming Rathangan to St.Catherine’s Park for this top of the table clash. All the early work was done by Liffeybank with Rathangan sitting deep. On the 25 minute great work down the right by Eoin Kavanagh who squared the ball back to Michael French to finish lovely into the bottom corner. Rathangan pushed hard but failed to find the equaliser. Into the second half and Liffeybank went finding the second and were rewarded when Player/Manager Terence Woolhead decided to take on Rathangan's whole back line, beating three players before finishing lovely into the bottom corner from a tight angle (rumour has it the celebration was better then the goal). Rathangan pulled one back but Liffeybank restored there 2 goal advantage with a very brave finish from Ian Foley who took one for the team in a challenge with the keeper. Rathangan went looking for a second but we’re denied by superb keeping by Richie Conroy. A massive 3 points for Liffeybank who now go top of the table on maximum points from four league games.
